Dear Pillager Community:
The 2022 Minnesota Food Share March Campaign has concluded. The numbers have been tallied and the fundraiser has once again been a rousing success. According to Minnesota Food Share, “For nearly four decades, local businesses, faith communities, schools, and organizations have gathered in March to creatively raise food and funds for their local food shelves all in shared effort to work toward an end to food insecurity in their community.”
I would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge and sincere thank you to the community of Pillager and the surrounding area and the many benefactors of the Pillager Area Food Shelf. Every donation whether a one-time donation during the March Food Share campaign or an ongoing monthly donation, is genuinely appreciated. The March Food Share Campaign is the biggest fund-raising effort of the year for our food shelf and because of the generosity of our citizens, I fully expect our little food shelf once again placed in the top 10 of all Food Shelf Food & Fund Drives serving up to 1,999 individuals. For the year 2022 we raised an incredible $17,820 in cash and 3335.68# food donations. I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our volunteers who give so freely of their time and talents to serve our community.
Great things can happen when good people come together for a common cause. “Together we can create a Minnesota where all thrive and no one experiences food insecurity and hunger.”
With sincere thanks and appreciation,
