New Ice Skating Rink and Pickleball Courts coming to Pillager.

A group of community members from area organizations, area businesses, the City of Pillager and the Pillager School have been meeting monthly to discuss what good things are happening in Pillager and what areas may need improvement.

The Bernick Family Foundation granted $20,000 to improve the current skating rink by adding cement for the ice rink, boards to surround the area, a warming house, and improve the lighting.  Pickleball courts will be added as well.

Thank you so much Bernick Family Foundation who gave a total of $150,000 to support 10 programs through the Bernick Service Area.  The picture shown above includes Jason Bernick from the Bernick Family Foundation presenting us a check for $20,000.  Eric Fornshell, local business owner,  Betty Doss, Pillager Family Center, and Lori Blumke, City of Pillager, thankfully accepted the funds.

Thank you to the Pillager Fair Board for allowing their property to be used for this project.  It will be a nice addition to the outdoor basketball court that is already there.

The Pillager community group is excited to get this project started this spring with the help of many area businesses helping with materials, supplies and labor.

If you would like to get involved in this community group, please join us the second Wednesday of each month at the Pillager City Hall building at 12:30 pm.  We are excited about this project and look forward to moving ahead with other thoughts and ideas.
