Home Visiting Programs Earn Accreditation

posted Feb 15, 2018, 2:22 PM by Myra Horner
After an extensive two year process, the Family Centers of Northland Area, Pillager Area, and the Pine River-Backus Area, are proud to announce that their Home Visiting programs have become accredited with Healthy Families America & Prevent Child Abuse America.  Included in the process was dedicated training for the Home Visitors, a review and revision of policies and procedures to better align with the accreditation, and review of case files to ensure the policies, procedures, and goals of families the Home Visitors work with were being met.

The Home Visiting program is a free program the Family Centers offer to residents within their service area who are pregnant or within three months of the babies birth.  Together with the families, the Home Visitors share information on age appropriate development, activities to support and grow that development, as well as assisting the family in meeting any family goals they may  have.

Additional information on the accreditation can be found in the Brainerd Dispatch article, 'Organization Aims to Improve Child Care in Cass County'.
